Smoky Mountains Proposal Films

The moment doesn’t stop when the shutter clicks.

A photograph holds a fraction of a second. Video keeps the nervous walk, the pause before the question, the surprise in her voice, and those first few seconds after the “yes.”

At selected locations, my proposal sessions include a Proposal Moment Film — a short video of the proposal itself, captured discreetly while I photograph the moment.

These are real proposals photographed throughout Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Garrett + Kimberly

Sunset at Gatlinburg Overlook

Mountain views, evening light, and one very important question.

Tara + Ryan

Waterfall Proposal in the Great Smoky Mountains

A quiet walk through the forest, a waterfall waiting at the end, and a proposal tucked away from the roadside overlooks.

Sarvin + Danial

A Riverside Proposal in the Smokies

Hidden among the trees and mountain streams, Sarvin and Danial’s proposal unfolded quietly in the Smokies before we wandered along the river for portraits at dusk.

Your Proposal, in Motion

The Proposal Moment Film is not a full cinematic production.

At selected locations, I discreetly position a second camera before you arrive. While I photograph the proposal, the second camera records the moment itself — the approach, the question, and the reaction afterward.

It gives you something photographs cannot quite preserve: movement, voices, nervous laughter, and those first few seconds of realizing you’re engaged.

Photography + 35mm Film + Motion

Three ways to remember one very big moment.

Proposal Moment Films are included with proposal packages at locations where a stationary camera can be positioned safely and discreetly.

Planning a Proposal in the Smokies?

You don’t need to know exactly where to go or how to make the surprise work.

I’ll help you choose the location, plan the timing, decide exactly where to stand, and create a simple plan so you can concentrate on the important part.
